Regimes of Rotating Convective Turbulence
1 : University of California, Los Angeles
Rotating convective turbulence exists ubiquitously throughout the universe. In this talk, I will briefly go over the scaling predictions for the slowly and rapidly rotating regimes of turbulent convection. From there, I will present laboratory-numerical tests of these predictions, showing where they work and where they fail. Finally, future studies will be discussed on how to push forward and extend this scaling framework.
